Mommie dearest Joan Crawford hits our big screen this May in one of the most deranged performances of her career, STRAIT-JACKET! Crawford stars as Lucy Harbin, a woman recently released from a psychiatric hospital after she decapitated her husband and his mistress with an axe 20 years before. She moves in with her brother, where her adult daughter Carol also resides. Carol tries to convince her mother to reclaim what she has lost from the events of her past, so Lucy begins to dress and act like she did twenty years earlier, in turn causing her to be much more short-fused and immature. Tensions rise when Lucy makes a pass at Carol's fiance Michael, and then wages an all out war against his parents - but those indiscretions pale in comparison to the brutal axe-murders occurring all around everyone, and the fact that all signs seem to point to Lucy as the perpetrator.

With a combination of Joan Crawford at the helm, king of schlock William Castle behind the camera, and Robert Bloch (who most know for penning Psycho, another little story about a bad mom!) writing the script, Strait-Jacket is an assured Retropath! favourite. Witness this bizarre inclusion to Crawford's filmography, which was recently featured in an episode of the hit television series Feud, with John Waters playing William Castle.

Our screenings would be nothing without our freaky sponsors: The Beguiling, Delirium Magazine and Eyesore Cinema!
